A case of spontaneous oesophageal rupture following vomiting, secondary to a hypoglycaemic episode is reported. The case is of interest in its presentation and physical signs. A patient is described in whom a massive chylous effusion followed sclerotherapy with repeated injections of 1.5% sodium tetradecyl sulphate.
